The Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers welcomes and
seeks to attract Members from Countries around the World. IDGTE
has members in many countries and strives to serve the interests of
Members in different countries. In the past year a Branch has been
set up in Canada. The views of those living outside the United Kingdom
are sought in all sections of activities.
We seek to promote the sharing of knowledge of Diesel Engine and Gas Turbine Technology

The IDGTE is the successor to the former Diesel Engineers and Users Association formed in 1913, to enable users of that time to compare the operational experiences.
The scope of the Society was later expanded by admitting engine and component manufacturers
